nineteen years young. everyone assumes she is twenty two, so assume that too because you are not gonna find out her real age. the only way you will find out is if you raid the patient files. She is a college graduate and that's all she will tell you.

Here's the diluted version of Emilie's history because as anyone in this asylum has one long history and if you really wanna read the whole thing, go find her app. So Emilie was born on a plantation in Georgia, USA. She's a southern hick and a tomboy with a rebellious side and a need for trouble. Her parents never got along. Her mother was terrified of her, thinking that she was just going to be like 'Oh, I feel like killing someone today *loads shotgun*' Her father on the other hand loved her, showed her how to throw knives, taught her how to shoot a gun, fix cars, plow a field, everything a father would teach his son, only he taught it to Emilie. Well, her mother wanted to keep her mind activated elsewhere and taught Emilie good study habits, to focus on schoolwork because knowledge is important and so were grades and she also got Emilie involved in music as well. Well, this is all well and good except Emilie could have time for school and learning as well as all these boyish activities. And thus, Emilie was able to skip the first two grades of elementary school and her freshman year of high school. This just worried her mother more and tried to get her involved in all state, music summer camps, etc, etc. When Emilie hit high school was when she got into drugs and alcohol and her rebellious side was even stronger. She wanted to prove, however, that you could do drugs and alcohol and still stay on top of your grades and classes and thus she graduated top of her class at the age of 16 and eventually went to Berklee. She had only been graduated from college two weeks before being shipped here.

Her personality is split. She's bipolar and borderline psychotic. Yup, lovely combination. Which makes it nearly impossible for her to make friends because she can never trust anyone, she's got a temper, always sees the worst in people and she doesn't get attached to people because they will never understand her and won't be able to tolerate her constant personality change, the way she acts like she throws her friendships around and doesn't care when it's not her, it's her disorder. So then they eventually leave anyways because they can't tolerate her. She's also a perfectionist and one who will lose sleep if she doesn't get something done to the best of her abilities. She's already an insomniac so really, how much difference is another day without sleep? She tends to work in the dark, keep to herself, doesn't pay any mind to whats going on around her and now that she's in the asylum, that's the worst that she could be doing. Because she was thrown in here because while she was at Berklee, she got bored sometimes and ended up writing out these very gruesome and torturous ways to kill a person or many people and though she never acted on them or plans to, she's got morals, she shouldn't be left to her own devices without her clarinet or blank sheet music. When she really does find someone she can trust in teh slightest or at least remotely understands her, she'll begin to care about them, though don't get your hopes up, she can easily not care about you as fast as you can lose her trust. And if you lose her trust, then she also no longer cares about you.

, She's not going to have many FRIENDS because again, she doesn't trust anyone, is hard to get along with and generally would rather be left alone with her music or a book. As far as LOVERS go, Emilie has slept around and never had many boyfriends. She was actually about to get serious with a guy right before she got sent here so she's still a bit heartbroken. Her ENEMIES will be a plenty. She has a temper and her constant change in value of friends and her picking out the worst in people is going to get her a lot of enemies.

Rin hates pretty much everyone. Especially the patients. And she's a bit of a snoop, so she frequently checks the patient records, even though she technically doesn't have much of a right to them, being a guard & not a therapist. So she'd definitely be really cruel, condescending, and outright bitchy. But it's not personal. Like I said... she hates everyone xD I think Adrian's her only possible friend, and that's because they're both guards.

joshua & emilie ,

Josh here is also very intelligent and graduated young... but unlike Emilie, he's proud of it rather than pretending he was the same age as his peers. Education was all he really had, his only social life coming in the form of the rare night he'd sneak out to parties in another city. So he grew up pretty sheltered and very driven. He got accepted into Princeton, then accidentally killed someone (via self defence) and was sent to Markham under the assumption of criminal insanity.

He's 100% sane, just a little angry.

That said, depending on how she'd react to him, I think they might be able to get along. He also loves music, but he only knows how to play the guitar. They definitely have a few things in common, so I think, depending on how they meet, they could be friends of sorts.

I can't really see these two knowing one another, I don't think xD He doesn't really take an interest in many people, socially, so they probably wouldn't have any reason to meet.

If Emilie heard rumours that she was a bitch then she'll definitely do something to wind her up and piss her off. But as long as she doesn't go blurtin out Emilie's age, then Emilie won't cross her path. If she does however, there will be consequences.

Emilie flaunts her education and graduating top of her class, she just doesn't tell people her age because she wants to be seen as a mature, responsible adult, and if lying about her age is how she gets this standing, then she'll do it. Even if she learns that her and josh share the same graduating young thing, she still won't tell him that she did the same because then that would reveal that she's younger than she is. If it's in your character's nature, he could somehow find her file and see how old she is if he's curious.

I think that one way that they could meet is if he sees her in the mess hall during a meal with sheet music sprawled out and he approaches her to say something about her being musical and then she'll most like growl at him to mind his own damn business and however he reacts is how their relationship begins.

Oh dear xD I do believe he'd be quite offended... but he's pretty polite, he'd probably just say something like, "My, someone's in a terrible mood." and then, "I was merely curious about someone who shared a similar passion, but if your goal is to drive me off, you're well on the way to succeeding." And yes, he usually talks like that xD Kind of... upper-class, businesslike, polite. xD If she continued to be standoffish, he'd probably leave. He doesn't like to deal with snobbish people - doesn't feel a need for acceptance, so if she made it clear she wasn't friendly, he'd stay away.

Then she'd probably be like "I guess they haven't branded me with 'insane' on my forehead yet for asses like you to know that I am a social outcast" And he hates snobbish people but he's talkin/actin like a snob...hypocrite much? It could just be one of her bad days that he happens to cross her path but she'll probably make him stick around. She'd go insane if she didn't talk to a single soul in this place.

Most likely, yeah xD Rin tends to attack different parts of a persons character. Like, she'd try and make Emilie pissed off, but she wouldn't assume age was a big deal.

He grew up in a very rich, gated community, with well-known parents... Josh himself is actually a nice guy, and he's intending to be polite when he talks the way he does, but I can see how someone would take it the wrong way. "Oh? I'm an ass now, am I? And why would that be?" Arch a brow at her or something, then be like, "If I were to believe everything they 'slapped on our foreheads', then you would be talking to a psychopathic monster right now." Pause, allow that to sink in. "But I'm quite sane. And you seemed to be as well, which is why I approached - there aren't many sane folk in places like this, as one would assume. You've also yet to prove my assumption wrong, but if my presence irks you, then I suppose I won't bother." We should totally thread this some time xD

Dahlia is a level five insanity patient. Basically--she's completely gone. I can imagine her an Emilie having a strange sort of relationship. Dahlia is a musician herself, as she plays the piano and sings. And since I stalk bios (TROLOLOLO) I saw that Emilie also enjoys reading and writing. Dahlia's mother was a famous poet and novelist, and she inherited her love of writing. That said, Dahlia may view Emilie as a protege of sorts. Though that doesn't mean it'll be a healthy relationship.

Dahlia used to be a partier too, but since she completely stopped, she just does wild things to get in trouble. Dahlia has a twisted view on a lot of things, including religion, so she'd probably mess with Emilie a bit. But yeah. Mostly view her as a protege to take under her demented wing. xD

Her response would be 'Have you ever heard a recording of yourself talking? Yea, that might explain a lot.' and then something like 'yea, well I'm not afraid of people anyways so have if you're lookin to terrify someone, i'm not your girl.' Do you want me to start? It would make sense.

Emilie has a twisted way of thinking to, I mean, she can come up with really gruesome ways of killing and torturing people. And she hates society and people. o.O Wait, do you mean Emilie a mentor for Dahlia, or Dahlia being Emilie's mentor. Because you worded it two different ways and I'm confused. Either way, that's just...o.O...

Sorry if I worded that weird. xD I just meant that since Emilie is a level one, Dahlia could view her as a "younger" version of herself. And Dahlia would probably try to befriend her in her...weird way. Whether Emilie responds positively or not to that, I don't know.

Oh, I get you now. You can't really make her become a higher risk but Emilie would definitely join her causing trouble and she could act like an insane risk level five but never be so. I think that'd be awesome because at least Emilie could have some fun in this shit hole.

We'll Emilie's friendships and such are always so rocky because she'll love them one day and then the next day she'll probably find them to be the absolute worst people in teh world. So you really have to learn when to stay clear of her and when to not tick her off, intentionally or unintentionally. It's hard to tell though. If Dahlia's willing to deal with one who seems to not be able to make up her mind, then friends they will be. Can you start the thread?
